Dear Joseph - yes, you are quite right that the masses have held back some of their personal morality [not I, I ve none of it <VBG>] b/c the Main Street is relatively happy. However, I think it would be a grave mistake if all the eleplant men <VBG> were to sit on their hands [or trunks] hoping the economy would do the President in [of which they have failed for the past 6 years] cuz the people on Main Street would smell a rat when there was one.

If I were their politico-economic strategist, helping the President to stop the tidal wave of economic collapse is the lesser of the two evils. By doing so, they have allowed the lame duck president to sit for a little longer. However, if the economy were to go busted, they would go down with the President while the donkey riders would pump up [and out] the votes. In other words, they can ill afford to allow the dems to get out of the middle class slumber.

best, Bosco
