Michelle <<OT>> re: Taxes and seniors. Been out of the good ol' USA for a few days, got back and started getting caught up - can't resist this one:

"With the republicans not only do you get pandering to the AARP, but you also get the RR in your bedroom! . . . Seniors are demographically the most well off segment of society thanks to their voting bloc support of redistribution of wealth from the young to the old."

First, you can present statistics selectively to make a point, but when you do, it is either confusion and ignorance or purposeful deceit. You are using the factor of net worth in that statement and trying to make an apples to apples comparison when there is none. Net worth includes things like home values, not just cash on hand and income. People who have been paying for their homes for many years or have paid them off completely have a statistically high net worth, BUT - they have a statistically lower INCOME. Guess which of those two things you can spend for things like food? What's more, they have almost no opportunity to materially improve their income through work. Unlike yourself and those of us who can still move upward through the corporate ladder or have businesses of our own to draw a living from, the seniors really aren't going to see many opportunities come to them.

Secondly, while not a member of the AARP, it is clear that they have been successfully terrified by the liars in the Democratic spin machine to the degree that I don't think they have a traditional party affiliation with the "evil" Republicans.

Knowing your disdain for older people from a prior discussion, it is clear you really want to find someone to blame for your situation, and the current target of opportunity seems to be people older than yourself.

Mr. K.
