bp, I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this, but last I looked the Oracle campus in Silicon Valley is surrounded by water--a veritable island! The only creatures that could be displaced to make room for housing "next door to Oracle" are fish and ducks! But then you'd run into a whole new heap of headaches from California Fish and Game and the Costal Commission. Telecommuting is the only way to fly! If Oracle, Cisco, etc., do not do telecommuting, I would be astounded. Employer-sponsored carpooling and vanpooling also are very big up here--and quite chic, really. BTW, you are right on target about houses and values and what the market will bear, and a lot of millionaires of both sexes have gotten there via the sweat equity route. Holly
