RE: Inclusion rate

I just got back from CompUSA 5th Ave. Took a look around. The ONLY PC's with Zip built in were 2 Compaq models. There were about 30 differnt models on display, and only 2 had Zip. Some Standard. I have seen NO Zip inclusion growth for the last 1 1/2 years.

I also saw the Imation Superdisc for iMac. It was connected to their display iMac. It matches the iMac exactly in color and design. Looks really sharp. And it feels much heavier and sturdier than Zip too. They were completely sold out of Imation Superdiscs for iMac.

CD-RW drives were selling very well, and the CD-R/RW media- forget about it. The shelves looks like a war zone. The Hi-Val 50pk CD-R's for $49.99 spindles were blowing out the doors. It was all I could do to not grab a box for myself. The Hi-Val 5pk of CD-RW discs were also $49.99 (or $10 apiece). I can find a better price for both of these on the net or mailorder, however. One older guy picked up a Hi-Val IDE CD-RW drive while I was there. 2 Staff help (I hesitate to refer to the workers there as "help" at CompUSA) were discussing how to make the CD media shelves look better by bringing more product out from the back and expanding the shelf space around the endcap

I also noticed a new Zip bundle box, the "Starter Kit" or something like that- a PP port(?) w/ 6 Zip discs in one box. The Zip section near the door was well maintained and quite orderly looking. A single Zip disc was $19.95.
