Arnie: According to Yahoo market cap at 19 is around 5 billion. So yes the answer to your query is yes and that is probably how they generate their targets. Buy outs usually are on the high side. So the target pricing scheme is kind of like the way real estate folks do it - comparable sales. Of course Vanguard is small potatoes compared to N and N should command some sort of premium for their size, uniqueness and coverage . On the other hand Vanguard poses very little in the way of integration problems for T. The buyer for NXTL would have to be a digitally oriented cell phone virgin. This narrows it down to the usual suspect of WCOM. On the other hand in time NXTL may be larger than T and then who cares about such comparisons - but will I live so long.
