Space Cadet;

I think I got it.

MSFT is considered "sort of special" and therefore deserves a PE equal to three times its growth rate. World is an awful place for all economies and companies except MSFT. Slowdown in ERP & data warehousing(running on NT) wouldn't matter to MSFT. In that case, PC server market would still grow at the projected 20% compounded annual rate. Gloomy worldwide economies wouldn't cause a drop in the projected 13% growth rate for desktops. Pressure by PC mkrs to develop a Windows Lite version for low-cost PCs(50% of unit volume) will amount to no action by MSFT. INTC taking an equity position in a distributor Linux is no issue for MSFT. Linux will never take market share away from NT like NT did from UNIX. DOJ issues have all been resolved.

I guess for all the mentioned reasons only MSFT engineers worth six-figure salaries.

I have never been a MSFT basher and I am not planning to turn into one now. However, I try not to confuse momentum trading with fundamental trading. Yes, I bot yhoo again today but I didn't buy it because of its great fundamentals. I bot it to make money.
