You're painting everything as black-or-white: no middle ground allowed. As you describe it, either he is going to give 100 per cent accurate short term market calls, or he has to "confine" himself to writing a book on risk management, etc. Anything in between is apparently worthless, in your estimation.

Somehow, I think the people who have followed his advice to the letter over the last ten years (and unfortunately I am not one of them), would not agree with you, given the financial results they have achieved.

What about nervous investors who would have sold out on every correction? Would a book have been able to give them the reassurance they needed to stay in the market over the last ten years? I doubt it.
