Hard to like a MARKETMAKER!!!

Within 20 minnutes of the 10/5 open received a call from my elctronic broker stating they had made an error in reporting a total fill on my order to buy a few thousand (more) PARS @2, and that it was only a partial fill for 2200 shares. Approximately 15 minutes later I pulled it up on my screen and noted that the low for the day ws 2 which meant the marketmaker had taken my order for zero scrape.

Unaccustomed to this magnminity by a marketmaker, I asked a coleague, who is also a former broker, about the zero scrape. He stated if the marketmaker is going to pull the price down later in the day (by shorting) he could have bought my shares for inventory.........and lo & behold PARS does go down to a day low of 1 26/32 within hours. I don't have access to a tape, but assume the marketmaker was the 'AXE' for PARS, who can apparently 'swing' the stock at will within some range.

Isn't it fun to play on a level playing field.

PARS isn't behaving like a stock expecting good news, but then agian if the marketmaker is 'swinging' the stock in a range it's hard to tell what's going on.

Ariella, any comments from your perspective as an investment banker
