Derrick,

This is a good thing? Quite the contrary. I have absolutely no faith in those clowns running the IMF (or anyone supposedly looking out for u.s. taxpayers' interests in our lovely d.c.). I have been asking my "representatives" in congress to send me details of the so called IMF "loans" which have been made so far to korea, indonesia, and thailand only to receive form letters from them asking me to vote for them in the upcoming elections. there is no question in my mind that this will turn out to be another massive "bailout" of western banks by u.s. taxpayers all in the name of saving the world from economic catastrophe. what I predict will happen this week is a quid pro quo whereby the republicans pass full funding for the IMF in exchange for clinton agreeing to an interim bill to keep the federal government going (and thereby prevent him from "blaming" any shutdown on the do nothing republicans).

regards
