OCTOBER 6, 1998
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--
In 1998 Eicon Teams With Compaq, Dell, Gateway, Hewlett-Packard,
Mitsubishi Electric and Siemens to Sell its DIVA ISDN Products
Over the last six months, Eicon Technology, a leading worldwide
provider of remote access hardware, has solidified its position as
the leading European supplier of ISDN terminal equipment by
signing corporate purchase agreements with several
industry-leading computer manufacturers.
Compaq Computer Corporation, Dell Computer Corporation, Gateway,
Hewlett-Packard Company, Mitsubishi Electric and Siemens
Information and Communication Products all selected Eicon's DIVA
line of ISDN interface cards for inclusion in their personal and
server computer products. Eicon's DIVA family of ISDN products
offers the broadest range of ISDN solutions for notebook
computers, desktop PCs and PC-based servers, providing remote
users with fast, reliable connections to the Internet and corporate LANs.
"Eicon is solidifying its place as a leading global supplier of
ISDN terminal equipment by signing agreements with
industry-leading computer manufacturers in Europe," said Virginia
Brooks, Vice President of Networking and Telecoms, Aberdeem Group.
"Furthermore, Eicon's growth in Europe is a solid indicator of
the acceptance of ISDN as a primary remote access connectivity solution."
"By partnering with the largest personal computer manufacturers in
the world, Eicon is well positioned to increase its leading market
share for ISDN hardware throughout Europe," said Ken Gingrich,
senior vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing Operations
for Eicon. "Our goal is to provide our partners with the best
solutions available for remote users seeking reliable, plug-and-
play connectivity to the Internet and corporate LANs."
Eicon's Corporate Purchase Agreements Compaq Computer Corporation
Eicon and Compaq initiated joint marketing and sales channel
activities designed to promote Compaq Remote Access Servers in
Europe. Eicon's digital/modem server technology combined with
Compaq's NT-based Remote Access Server now delivers the ease-of-
use, reliability and management needed in the small to medium
enterprise market. By providing complete remote access solutions
as well as local support and service, Compaq delivers robust and
flexible remote access platforms to the market. Dell Computer Corporation
Dell Corporation selected Eicon's DIVA Pro ISDN interface cards as
a factory-fit option across its ISDN-equipped Dimension PCs sold
in the United Kingdom, Germany and France. In response to the
increasing demand for ISDN solutions from consumers and small
businesses, Dell has become the first major PC manufacturer in
Europe to offer standard configurations including ISDN. Gateway
Gateway, a global leader in the direct marketing of PCs, selected
Eicon's DIVA ISDN interface card to be installed in its ISDN-
equipped personal computers sold throughout Europe. Gateway
selected Eicon's DIVA interface card because of its ability to
provide remote users with fast, reliable connections to the
Internet and corporate LANs, as well as the ability to transfer
extremely large files in such imaging applications as medical,
insurance and law enforcement. Hewlett-Packard
Hewlett-Packard chose Eicon's DIVA line of ISDN interface cards
and PC cards for inclusion in its NetServer system and personal
computer products throughout Europe. In its initial offering,
Eicon's DIVA Server BRI-2M card, the industry's first ISDN
solution to fully support the Microsoft BackOffice Small Business
Server, is included in HP's NetServer system as part of its
small-business solution suite. Mitsubishi Electric
Mitsubishi Electric selected Eicon's DIVA brand of ISDN interface
cards as standard equipment in its FT line of PC-based server
computers. Mitsubishi's choice of Eicon's DIVA products
illustrates the company's long-term commitment to the versatility
and functionality of ISDN remote access. Siemens
Siemens selected Eicon's DIVA server BRI-2M PCI ISDN network
