Paul , re. pricewatch
My post said that I have been watching Pricewatch every day .
On the 8 Sep the 300mhz was a LOW price of $113 , on the 5 Oct the price weas $109 . That is a $4 drop in a month , besides which the low price reflects the fact that these are OEM surplus chips and are being
sold at a loss to clear inventory before the release of higher speed 380 + 400 mhz K6-2s . On that URL That I posted from the 25 Sep , AMD quoted the selling price of the 300mhz at $129 .
On another point , all you Intel investors were claiming that AMD could not grab a large market share . The facts speak for themselves !
I believe that the blended ASP could range anywhere from $110 - $145 , depending on whether AMD sold all their .35 inventory last quarter . If Edelstone is correct on the 4M K6-2s then that would give K6-2 revenue from $440M - $580M , enough to give a very good profit unless there are considerably greater expenses than last quarter .
