Hi Eric,

I still have Octoberphobia. They say it lasts for about a month. Therefore, I am limiting myself to a few puts, and conserving capital. I noticed the downward earnings revision by Ed Yardeni at Deutsche Bank for the S&P in 2000. From a forecast of about $44 in 1998, he is looking for about $33 in 2000. Thus, the S&P should look somewhat troubled for a while.

What do I like? In one word -- biotechs. I think they have been kicked down pretty hard. I get Michael Murphy's Cal. Tech. Stock Letter (CTSL), and he has many well-capitalized biotechs with huge upside targets. Might be worth a look. Check out CEPH and CHIR for a start.

Regards,
Dennis
