M[], I give it a 50-50 chance, but it will really do it on DOJ monopoly revelations (if any). The reason I give it any chance outside of that is that the nifty 50 stocks that hold up the NAZ/SPoo have to take a hit if we get a downturn. I still remember watching what happened to IBM in '87. Only took about a decade to come back. -g-

The thing I can't figure out is Y2k. Initially you would suspect less IT spending, but then I think about my home PC, an early P133. Unbelievably, it is not compliant according to a test program. I don't recall exactly what the problem is since I didn't bother to try and figure out the cryptic statements the pinhead programmers were telling me. If an easy fix is not available about this time next year, I will throw away the box and get a couple hundred buck replacement. Which means soft will sell another OS, along with all the other bells and whistles. I don't think I am alone on this approach.

Jeez, Slimeball starts to give a speech and the market shoots up. -nfg- Sounding like they are going to actually set up a quasi insurance scheme to protect the CommonMan from financial market downturns, bubbles or not. "Doctors and nurses forced to live in the lobby of hospitals, people forced to sell their homes to buy food...."
