Doc Stone - Stock stud or rude rumormonger? As I recall you called me a liar in a previous post, stating that you doubted the size of my short position. I told you that I'd be happy to wager on the actual size of my position - but you haven't gotten back to me yet.
Now you say that I'm "ignorant" because I mentioned that Jack King sold 1/2 of his current stake. I'm simply reading this off the newswire (12/25/96). If I'm missing something, please let me know where I can look it up.
As far as your accusation that I'm "twisting the facts" is concerned, let's review some of the claims by the hypesters on this board. Here are a few choice ones:
1) Zitel/Matridigm will make announcement on Nov. 29. (Didn't happen.) 2) Colin Powell, Jack Kemp, and Paul Allen will join the Matridigm board. (Funny - but a lie - which you started.) 3) George Soros is buying Zitel. (A lie - but still irrelevant. Mr. Soros has also lost money on many past investments. He would lose on this one too.) 4) Bill Gates is buying 10% of the company. (A lie.) 6) Zitel/Matridigm will make an announcement on Jan. 6. (Maybe...but somehow I wouldn't bet on it.) 7) Zitel will split in January. (Amazing how you guys can read the minds of the board before a meeting is held.)
...and so on..and so on...and so on.
Now you're insinuating that Barron's is going to write a fluff piece on Dave Stewart. This sounds about as likely as the Wall Street Journal doing an editorial praising Carlton Lutts for his business ethics and humanitarianism.
So I've been perfectly honest about my short sales...sticking to my analysis of the company and publicly posting my positions, even though they continue to tank...yet you call me a liar.
I don't post any false rumors about the company. I only point to publicly available information and criticize its overvalued stock...yet you call me ignorant and accuse me of twisting the facts.
Well, I may be a bit sarcastic at times, but I try to refrain from these banal ad hominem attacks. If you're not careful, I think that a few of the more rational people reading this thread are going to start to get the impression that perhaps you're not the super-savvy investor you make yourself out to be.
Not me though...I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt. I think you're a good guy and you're obviously making tons of money on Zitel. So I'm going to bump up the original wager and give you an additional opportunity to kick my butt.
My short position now stands at 32,600 shares as of close of trading today.
I will pay you $20 for every share below 32,600 that I'm short. You pay me $1 for every share over 0 that I'm short. + I'll bet you $10,000 that you do not own a single share of Zitel as of close of trading: 12/24/96. + I'll bet you an additional $50,000 that Barron's does not make any positive comments about Dave Stewart (I'll give you a 1 month time window - 4 issues).
As usual, please email me and we can work out the details.
