j b - interesting theory: ". . . courts should take the case up after the President leaves office," but were I a member of a victim's family (assuming the sitting President were the actor) I wouldn't be happy at all.

I think the bottom line is he got bad legal advice and he should have settled the Jones case before it got as far as it did. But, then again, he would have had to 1: Tell/admit the truth; 2: Apologize for his actions. Neither of which he is really very good at.
