Yes, picture it. 100 terabytes on an NT server.

I'd run screaming from the building if I walked in and found a configuration like this. Having spent time at NCR in San Diego, I can't believe they did an NT port. NCR is DEAD! They haven't got a clue. They'll throw money at anything to see what sticks. How can anyone really believe ANYTHING on NT is a threat to Teradata is the real question. Yeah, like SQL Server is going to do a quality job of supporting partitioned data any time soon, especially at the disk drive controller level. Gee, are the SQL Server optimizer folks working closely with Intel?

Is this a threat to HYSL. No.

Is the revaluation of the techs a thread to HYSL. Yes in the short term - 16-18 months.

By then, the laughter about Teradata on NT will have subsided, but just barely.
