Jim, Compaq is one of those companies that will deceive the rank and file investor, while holding private conferences with their favored clients to tell them confidentially what's really going on internally... I still remember, several cycles back, when the CFO told the investing public that "he was comfortable" with the earnings picture, which they would announce in about two weeks..We later found out he had held private conferences with favored clients to tell them that earnings were going to be flat...The fat cats were unloading like crazy while the uninformed suckers like me held on!!! Never again will I invest in that company..In my opinion, the management does not have integrity.
