Barney -

Dell, Gateway, and all the other computer manufacturers will embrace Sony's HiFD if and when their customers indicate that they want it. And the extent to which they embrace it will depend upon how many customers are perceived to want it.

I don't believe that the big computer makers will be put off by the fact that Sony invented HiFD.

Meanwhile, yes, almost every computer ships with a floppy drive, and the floppy drive was invented by Sony. But there are several different companies making floppy drives today, including TEAC, Toshiba and Mitsumi.
