OT to David re Canadian Tax Rules.

I've received advice to the contrary from my accountant.
Essentially, the odds of Revenue Canada catching the transaction unless they're auditing you for some other reason is low. So you might be able to process the paper work without any immediate problems. However the tax act and the Interpretation Bulletins would bring in the "wash sale" rules if you are holding "substantially the same security" via options.

You can get the IB from their web site.

By the way, I like your accountant better than mine. ;-)
Is (s)he looking for new clients?

Ian.
