Hoffa Says He Won't Debate Candidates in Teamsters Race nytimes.com

A brief followup from today's paper on the Teamsters.

Hoffa's campaign manager, Tom Pazzi, said in a statement that the election officer "is seeking to cooperate with corporate media giants to catapult Hoffa's opponents into a name recognition and stature which they, unlike Hoffa, haven't earned."

Uh huh. Most people would be a bit embarrassed to have Hoffa's kind of name recognition, but never mind. Once again, I imagine the Teamsters will be back in their correct slot politically soon, and then Mr. Lacelle will no longer feel the need to use their tactics as a political smear.
