I agree, that at IDT our sole hope is now Clear-Logic (they have a different CEO, by the way...). I do disagree with your statement, however, that "they picked the wrong density": The CL 8000 series , which is now in full production, was the best vehicle to prove their approach and fine tune their process. What's more, I have heard, that they have sampled several hundred different devices to almost a hundred customers world wide, some of which are definitely first tier large users. The numbers may be somewhat on the high side, but if truth is even close, you must admit that this seems promising. Other "densities" like the 7000 and 10k families are said to follow soon with first announcements by end '98.
