samg: If one makes an unemotional analysis of the postings herein, one will observe that these Analysts have made very good calls as subsequently proven by the Market.On evidence,their track record has been excellent when compared to many predictions made for 98 by many others. The Telecom Industry has 3 main sectors with different growth patterns all multimedia based. a:Carrier b:Carrier Access c:LAN/VLAN. The fastest growth now is in b) and C). NN will therefore have limited capability vrs the other big players with overall capability. Sure at the carrier end, ATM will dominate. However, below that,lots of opportunity exists for Switching,Protocol Conversion,Speed buffering,Compression and Security Technology since these have excellent growth potential. Does any one know of any Current forecast for the Telcom/Networking Industry under broad sub-heads as above.? Thanks.
