Eddie and all -
don't start to panic.

I am firmly convinced that CPQ will be back in the 40's before year end, and that they will have a killer 99, moving into the high 60's or mid 70's. I think Dell will also do well but not as well - they will continue to see great performance in the desktop space but their enterprise growth will slow in 99. Maybe low 70's later this year, high 80's or low 90's in 99.

I am still holding more than 125K shares of CPQ, it's not like I dumped the truck. Keep the faith, CPQ is one of the strongest, if not THE strongest, computer companies out there and there is nothing but upside for long term holders.

The AMD announcement is a big plus for CPQ IMHO - that points to the great success of CPQ's consumer line, which drove a lot of that AMD volume. Also there is a big upsurge in low cost machines in Korea and other asian countries, and CPQ is the leader in quality low cost systems.

I'm just trying to have a little fun on a down day. I don't recommend my investing strategy to anyone else...
