Does Legato compete with Seagate Software, in the low-end, Windows NT market? That market uses a two-tier distribution model. Legato has no such channel.

mark.

i don't profess to be a cable guy (so i'm not sure if this will fully answer your last question), but from what i gather, LGTO's flagship product, NetWorker, transfers files onto optical drives and large storage devices for NT, unix, and novell's netware. along with GEMS, (global enterprise management of storage) which controls storage over a WAN, these two products racks up about 60% in revenue.

additionally, roughly 20% of LGTO's sales come from partnership agreements with box makers like silicon graphics and sun which license and integrate NetWorker into their systems and then cough up royalties.

would you mind elaborating on the "two-tier" distro?

thanks,
-chris.
