Hello Frank. Well, the good news about the futures did not last long. It's hard to make sense out of all this mess. Asia was up all over and Japan itself was up 6%. We did open on the upside and the DOW is still up some at this time. But the NAZ is doing its thing again. Amzn is getting more competition from Barnes & Noble, I guess, since that German concern Bertelsmann is taking a stake in it. That is sending Amzn South and is taking the rest of the internet stocks with it. I guess that's how the NAZ started its decend. Good thing I am not in Amzn at this time. I generally get back in in the low 90's but I don't know.

As far as the rest of the stocks are concerned: It looks like everything that is still up for the year is being hit. I am not so sure if all this has to do with world economies. It looks more and more like that big time gambling by those Hedge Funds has a lot to do with all this. I just heard this morning that one of those well known Hedge Fund guys has even sold our Bonds and bought back cheaper etc. Big money can move a lot of money and can bring things in disarray. All the money in the world that we can pump into little countries with money problems will not take care of that.

Now the GOV is going after Visa and Mastercard. I don't have anything against that if it means cheaper interest rates for lots of people. Those cards carry pretty darn high interest rates for most. I get fav. rates but even those could be lower. My bank keeps saying it is only 1 percent over prime. Not anymore, the way the rates have come down. I pay off monthly, so it does not bother me.

Techs should be doing a lot better today and the Pharmas. I figured that AMD would not get a big jump out of their earnings. But 3 points down seems a bit weird even to me. Of course, it had gone up in anticipation for better results but nobody expected them to post a tiny 1 cent gain, a loss was expected. I was kidding around with Sonki last night about that. I don't know where they will get lots more profit from with those low prices. They were so proud about being ahead of Intel in that low end market but I have been saying for over one year: How long can you stay in business when you are making hardly any money on what you sell? That cheap stuff is great for the consumer but does not bode well for the companies. That's one reason I never ventured back into AMD. In order for their strategy to be profitable I would have to stick with one of the States motto: Show me.

Let's hope things straighten out soon and our stocks will keep going up again before we are all broke or have to sell before it goes to 0 gg.

The FED is making noises about being open to more interest rate cuts and more and more noises are being heard that we will go into a recession. That at a time when we have low inflation and even Mr. Rubin says that the economy is doing pretty well. I guess there are ways all this can be wrecked. Let's hope it will not come about soon.

Hoping for a better ending today than what I am seeing now. The market is down right ugly again.

I have tried to send this message away for some time now. It is very slow for me.

Sonny
