Waiting for Q3 ...

Maybe this time they wait for the Bell in New York
or the guys in Walldorf need another day for this calculation.

SAP is forced by german law to give this ad-hoc-message
as soon as possible. I just wanted to underline, that
in contrast to the market expectation we will see this information before 10/20/98.

I'm observing SAP since 1991 and investing in SAP since 1994.
In Oct.1996 the stockprice declined after a long run because of a disapointing Q3 result. This 'shocked' the SAP-management and some trades has been under a 'insider trial' because the numbers where released to the press in late october.

As a result SAP talked with the german federal authority 'board of control for stock exchange' BAWE (http://www.bawe.de/english/frame_e.htm) and decided to give pre-released information as an ad-hoc-message as soon as possible. This messages are sometimes tersely and nebulous formulated and you have to read between the lines. With its ERP-Software SAP is able to calculate the figures in about 1 week. The official press release with the exact figures will be released at the press conference (10/20/98).

regards,
Heinz
