Pete,

" Is this the last gift horse ? Or is this the edge of a black hole ?
WOW - what a cliff hanger !"

I keep telling myself that "it's only money." This, and the fact that I NEVER want to feel the fear I felt back in the 87 crash. I never want emotion to drive me out again, at the market low.

Brinker's benchmark lows in the DOW and S&P 500 are holding. A recent message from don lane points out that Brinker's benchmarks are DOW at 7500 and S&P500 at 957. If we are again testing the lows on reduced volume, so much the better.

I will say (write, actually) that this whole process since July has been very exciting for me. I have actually loved much of it. I have also fretted. I have not forgot what Bob said back in the Spring about precedents to bear markets. I transcribed his spoken words as follows: "In almost every case, a bear market is preceded by an intermediate correction of 10% to 20% percent." Well, we've got the intermediate correction. Is this the first breath of a truly ill wind? Cliffhanger? Yes. Black hole?

Brinker says "no," the conditions for a bear market are not present.

I have stopped short of pawning my woodshop equipment to raise cash to purchase more shares. I sleep well too. Though, I awake excited.

Ciao,
David Todtman
