As posted earlier, there has been an awful lot of both planned and actualized sales by insiders lately.

biz.yahoo.com

I can surmise three reasons for why insiders are selling

1) Options recently vested and/or
2) Bad news coming and/or
3) An announcement of a takeover or purchase. Usually there is a lock up period after an acquisition or, of course, after being taken over.

looking at the rapid rise in the stock recently from high thirties to a high of 51 5/8 it seems that the third scenario seemed the most likely explanation, with this having fallen through. This is pure conjecture on my part.

Another explanation that might be pertinent is that Microsoft is planning to release version 3 of their RTOS. Any word on this ?
