>>> I'm so mad at them I'm not going to contribute a penny to Republicans in near future. No more dinner parties for them!

I too once was a 'member' of the Republican National Committee, in other words a donor. Then I found a candidate who really intended to balance the budget, which I considered pro-business. Clinton, that is.

The Republican leadership are destroying our national credibility and all the market gains of the last two years in an effort to overturn the 1996 election results, and for revenge. There is a Hatfields-vs-McCoys aspect to this that involves both parties, of course. You torpedo Hatfield, we torpedo Gary Hart. You torpedo Packwood, we torpedo Clinton. Et Cetera. However, bringing down a highly successful president who has lowered inflation (further), lowered unemployment, balanced the budget ahead of the published schedule, and given us 6 years of peace?

They started this on the first day, when the outgoing George Bush emptied desks, removed key staffers, even took out telephones and telephone directories from the White House so that everything would have to be rebuilt from scratch. On top of that, Bush left Central America, Bosnia, Eastern Europe in general, Russia, East African starvation, and the middle east peace process in shambles. Nevertheless Clinton and Gore have dealt with these things with better than average success. The major exception being central Africa (the Hutus and Tutsis.)

Now, in the midst of an emerging world economic crisis, the Republicans are destroying the US administration. The entire world will face new starvation, poverty, war, and environmental depredation because of this policy of disablement.

I assume that those who give the Gingrich's of the world direction already have their money out of the stock market. The kind of people who could afford a 4 million dollar phoney book deal award to him out of pocket change, for instance.

Cheers,
Chaz
