PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 7, 1998--
Brio's Business Intelligence Product Chosen Over 38 Contenders as Number No. 1 Choice for Query and Analysis, Based on Quality and Value to the Enterprise
Brio Technology, Inc. BRYO , the enterprise business intelligence company, today was awarded top honors by DM Review magazine, a leading business intelligence and data warehousing publication.
Brio's BrioQuery business intelligence product received the 1998 DM Review Readership Award for Query and Reporting.
"The winners of this important award are determined by our readers -- folks who use these products day in and day out," said Ron Powell, Publisher of DM Review. "With this number No. 1 ranking, it's clear that Brio Technology is their first choice for business intelligence query and reporting."
Brio Ranked No. 1 for Business Intelligence Query and Reporting
The DM Review Readership Awards are based on the results of an independent survey of readers conducted by Market Perspectives, Inc., a Massachusetts-based research firm working on behalf of DM Review magazine. DM Review readers identified the winning companies and their respective products based on quality and overall value to the enterprise.
Of the 38 vendors ranked on the quality and value of their query and reporting tools, Brio came in No. 1 for query and reporting, with fully one-third of readers rating Brio's query and reporting tools "excellent." More than three-quarters (77%) rated Brio "very good" or "excellent." With the No. 1 ranking, Brio was awarded the DM Review Readership Award.
"This independent survey by DM Review is particularly important because it gives voice to the user," said Chris Grejtak, executive vice president for marketing at Brio Technology. "At Brio, we've always focused on enabling quick ROI by delivering products that are as easy for decision makers to use as they are easy for IT to implement and maintain. Thus, we're exceptionally pleased with this strong validation of Brio's products and our growing reputation for providing maximum value in business intelligence across the enterprise."
Several of Brio's industry partners were also recognized as leaders in their categories, giving evidence to the strength of the Brio solutions. IBM -- a Brio partner and customer -- for example, won the DM Review Readership award for Data Warehouse Design & Methodology with its Visual Warehouse solution. Recently, IBM chose to bundle Brio Enterprise with the IBM Visual Warehouse family .
"We're also pleased to see our partner Hyperion Solutions at the top for OLAP tools," noted Grejtak. "Brio's 2nd place ranking for OLAP out of 26 OLAP vendors further demonstrates the power and flexibility of the Brio Enterprise suite. In fact, we're proud that 80% of DM Review readers surveyed rated Brio 'excellent' or 'very good' for OLAP capability."
