Y'know, I look at the taxes I pay and what services I get for it--such as the bombing of Sudanese pharmaceutical factories and a nightmarish morning and evening commute along an interstate highway system in constant disrepair--and compare it to the deal the Canadians and Europeans get for their only slightly higher taxes--free higher education, healthcare, even churches in Germany get some tax money--and I think I'm getting a pretty raw deal. I did however object to being called a "slave" merely because I expressed the sentiment that I don't fear the radical left as much as the radical right primarily because the lefties, in contrast to the righties, don't have any power and because they really don't want to govern and don't wish to outlaw abortion, ban books, bomb federal buildings, enforce their morality on other people. I also disagree with the idea, implicit in good David's posting, that paying income tax equals submitting to slavery.
