I wish I could find the programmers I need here in Silicon Valley or on the west coast. I find lots of them from India, Pakistan and China because apparently those countries bother with educating their population.

I think it was Robert Reich who noted that something like 2/3 of the US population don't have enough education to realize they aren't well enough educated to compete in the global jobs market. Very true, and may understate the case as we move even further away from low-skill jobs.

The simple fact is that low education makes you qualified to stitch Nikes together in for $.50 per day. Tariffs and other protectionist measure can only prolong the situation for a very short while.
