AARGH ... I am SO d*mn frustrated.

I've spent over 5 hours talking to customer service from Dell, Microsoft, Brother and Hewlett Packard ... getting several things done.

I haven't been able to set-up my new Brother multi-function unit, and haven't been able to print anything for over a week. After several hours, numerious people and companies, we discover that an OLD Hewlett Packard laser printer's code is still somewhere deep in Windows, and is interfering with set-up.

Called HP. Spent 20+ minutes on hold (my own dime) listening to music. Got transferred to several departments. Talked to several "live" people.

Was transferred to a voice mail that gave me two new numbers to call. Will be charged $25 for solution. Don't care what it costs. (Just need to get it fixed.)

HERE'S THE Y2K KICKER: After entering my credit card info ... I'm then asked to enter my 4 digit expiration date. (i.e. Jan 1999 = "0199")

MY CARD EXPIRES JANUARY 2000 ["0100"]. HP won't accept it!!

"That's an invalid number". Tried again. Same message. I can't reach a "live" human being, cause my card expires in 2000. I can only get a digital voice who keeps on telling me "That's an invalid number."

AARGH I'm desperate to get a printer hooked up to my computer.

I'm gonna try to call my mom, and hopefully her credit card expires in 1999. I need someone from HP to talk to me.

Guess I'll start this whole process again tomorrow.

Just wanted to share my first-hand Y2K story.

Cheryl:-((
