RR - I separate market participants into several categories, makes it easier to think bout what's going on. One is big trading institutions like GS or Fido; also a pension fund kind of institution - but they won't do these things. Corporations themselves may trade in different ways in own stock - like a buyback program. Semiprivate traders - like hedgies. Daytraders or various kinds. Plain suckers ... -g- PS. you know that it was Spoos that pulled stocks up at the lows today - not the other way around. PREM shot up to 15+ in like 30 seconds. Somebody bot a lot of Spoos very fast ... I was watching in real time.
