Right now, Yahoo is benefiting from the slow communications response. When cable modems become mainstream, people won't even have a chance to see those banner pages. Once the full page is shown, they'll go right away to the business they had in mind. Advertisers would demand lower rates. It's like TV ads, they pay by how long the ads are. In the case of internet ads, they'll pay based on how long the ads are visible.
