I am somewhat new to the idea of shorting and am confident that, basically shorting is just the opposite of going long. Good fundies..buy long....bad fundies, high pe, bad news go short...seems simple enough. For an opinion I would like to submit FILE as a short sell discussion. They released that they have a "surpise" loss of .18 for the Q about to report from an estimate of .14...a minus .32 "surprise" is not good news. Now, I would imagine that the stock will open considerably lower than todays close. My question is to short at the market or wait a bit for the bottom fishers to come in and drive the price up a bit. Currently the stock is trading just over 2 times book and I know that Mr. Pink likes to see that a bit higher.
BTW there is a very small short position in the stock as of Sept 8.
TIA
