How do you know Long Term Capital is the only fund in the same quagmire? My friends on the Street say it isn't.

Also, the HYPE is with Japan right now. So for what its worth, the Nikkei, the Yen, and basically Japan are the place to be.

To the Dr. who asked why the market was falling with the falling dollar. The reason deals with the underyling causes of this fall; namely, the blowing out of positions by hedge funds who were actually LONG the dollar/short the Yen. Massive short covering going on right now, coupled with the fact that the Japanese are repatriating their U.S. equity profits.

What does this mean? The positions with the highest instituional involvement are going to hell.
