Catalyst Semiconductor Inc. Announces First
Quarter Results

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 1998--Catalyst Semiconductor Inc. (OTC:CATS - news)
today announced its financial results for the first quarter ended July 31, 1998. 

Revenues for the first quarter were $7.3 million, up 52% from revenues of $4.8 million in the preceding quarter,
compared to revenues of $9.5 million in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. The quarter ended with a net
loss of $0.6 million or $0.06 per share, a major improvement from a net loss of $10.1 million or $1.20 per share in
the preceding quarter and an improvement from a loss of $0.8 million or $0.10 per share in the first quarter a year
ago.
