1. Direct connection via my ISP, 28K modem. I suppose that's an internet connection. It is not direct dial into a dedicated MBT server.

2. The Market Maker screen. Sometimes (not always) it will run a minute or so late. The market minder screen seems to keep up pretty well. Market Maker screen = the screen showing the detail of the bid/ask of the various MM's and ECN's.

3. Order entry is fine. Goes thru immediately, fills are reported immediately. And I see my bid or offer show up immediately on my other machine which has the ABWatley market minder screen running full time.

4. When I see that MBT's Level II is running slow, I use ABW's market minder screen to give me the latest market, and trade thru either ABW or MB.

In defense of MBT, they claim that my problem is the modem. On the other hand, I keep open charts and Level II screens down to the minimum, and I have trouble believing the problem lies exclusively with the size of my pipe. I have everything plus the kitchen sink running on the other machine, with no problem.
