There is no evidence that Clinton is venal. It certainly seemed stupid in what he did, but when a man, or woman, has a strong "God given" sex drive, many tend to succumb to their carnal desires. At least Clinton attempted to keep the affair private, and in as private as possible a place. What he did pales beside the many Priests and other religious types that have molested children. Priests that molest children get forgiven and pardoned all the time by the upstanding, religious right.
But, you are correct about Clinton trying to hide the affair.

This is bullshit. When was the last CEO dumped because of sex? And, sex happens all the time within the conservative boardrooms of American corporations.

Yes, I think that the Republican Congress, and their right wing backers, would destroy this country in their quest for power.

I don't like some of Clinton's policies. I don't dislike Clinton, but I feel the same as you about his enemies. They scare me. Their disregard for law and individual rights, and the underlying zeal for a one religion country, makes me think that this could be a first step towards fascism.
