OK, here are the numbers we are all waiting for.Please note that
these numbers reflect ONLY those lines on Winstar switches, and
DO NOT reflect resold lines.This info is for 18 offices that have switches, even though 3 or 4 of those switches are not yet on line.
total lines on switch as of end of 97: 11,500
added year to date: 27,000
added 3rd quarter : 12,000
Wireless lines on switch at end of 97: 1900 (16% of total)
added year to date : 8200 (30% of total)
added 3rd quarter :4700
wireless lines on switch by quarter this year:
Q1: 1600
Q2: 1800
Q3: 4700
Backlog:
18,000 lines (57% of total)
type 1 (wireless):3,600 (39%)
type 2 (landbased): 14,500 (61%)
Please remember that these nos. represent on switch nos. ONLY !!!!
To my thinking these are the numbers that are important, due to the fact that these provide much higher revenue than resold lines. This quarter has seen a very large migration of lines to the switch !!!
(way to go WCII !!!!!)
When talking about ALL lines sold, I think (IMHO) we will see an increase of 40% to 50% over last quarter, and installs should be
(again,IMHO) 150% over last quarter !!!
