Valuations are underpinned to a very large extent by confidence. I think that confidemr nce could have been restored by firm and prompt action. It wasn't.

Mr Greenspan has only very recently been concerned about what is turning out to be the Great Crash. Until then he was only concerned about inflation. It seemed pretty obvious to most people that the Wolrd Recession of 1997 had squeezed all measurable inflation away but no Mr Greenspan kept interest rates high till five past midnight.

I also get the impression that he just doesn't like it when the market goes up. Just sort of doesn't like it.

Anyway I hope he is satisfied now that millions of people have lost a lot of their savings. He was proved right and so hopefully that should now satisfy him and those that have all along been warning us who have invested that the whole thing is a legalized ponzi scheme and the Q is now well in the thirties and heading for single figures.

regards,
L
