Techteam:

Wow..what witty repartee. Your analysis is wrong, but I must be stupid because the stock is down today? Gee...I wonder how your coverage list is doing? Are you suggesting that it was your "insightful" analysis that precipitated the stock's decline?

Just because a company refuses to spoon feed information to the sell-side does not obviate your obligation as a financial analyst. While it admittedly is difficult to calculate QC's royalty revenue per handset, with a little intellectual effort, it is possible to generate reasonable assumptions (and with a lot of perspiration, it is possible to get pretty darn close). Isn't that what you are paid to do? It is a sad, sad commentary on the state of Wall Street to see an analyst whine because the big bad company won't tell him exactly what numbers to plug into his model..poor baby.

Perhaps you and Marc Cabi should get together and share your "insights". Maybe, with his tutelage, your analysis of Qualcomm could be as prescient as his analysis of Ericsson :-)
