A bit off topic.

Just ran into my real estate broker who reminded me that he still had someone interested in my house (I had it on the market briefly in the spring before changing my mind about selling).

So now I'm sitting here thinking 'gee I'm in a semi-rural area where housing sales are slow at the best of times and I'm hearing all this talk of deflation, recession, y2k etc maybe this is a better time to sell than to wait a year or two when god-knows what is going to happen.'

There are other personal reasons why it would be convenient for me to be more mobile right now.

It seems to me that in the short term (with the threat of deflation) a house may be a lousy place to store money.

Any thoughts?
