To all,
Might be a good idea to report on some retail channel checks on the Pavillion 7110Z from HP in your local stores. It's a "seminal" computer in that it's the first "retail" one with internal ZIP drive (Power Computing and Micron are more mail order types). While this sort of checking might seem inconsequential, we all live in different areas of the U.S. obviously and perhaps can get some grass roots consensus for sales of this tower.
IMHO this computer is a barometer for potential new internal OEMs, who must be watching this one closely. If it does well, and it is here in the Emeryville,CA Good Guys and Circuit City stores, it seems at this EARLY stage further evidence that the consumer is willing to pay for that extra utility added on to the unit. Hopefully, other OEMs will realize that it (Internal Zip) is not a risk but a selling point if added to at least some of their computers. Critical mass is needed. Of course we already know about the externals.

What's my bias for any bears out there?
FWIW, bet the farm in January of 95 after MacWorld.

Best,
Ed
