HiChris,
We don't get Barron's out here so I mainly use the internet for research. That on top of years and years of studying economics, mainly macroeconomics, and economic trends, mainly worldwide trends. The title of Barron's article, "Sizing up Small Caps, Seasonally Depressed?" doesn't seem to fit TGIS. I don't see TGIS's problems as "seasonal." It's depression would appear more from a large number of momentum investors selling the stock when it reached around $20. As they all sold out, no one bought back in, and thus the the stock dropped to its current price of about $7. If only momentum investors start buying again, I can see the stock doing a roller coaster ride again. That's why it needs to attract a different kind of investor this time. I don't think you can go wrong buying more of this stock. The only thing it can do is go up, and it has a strong foundation to do it on.

Alex Young's statement is good. To me it shows what it appeared their last quarterly report showed....when they spend their money, they spend it on the right things, like research and development. I did not see a large growth in administrative type expenses over the last year.

As for my career, I'm actually retiring and will draw a good retirement salary for the rest of my life which is not bad at 41. Thus money is not a big issue and teaching mathematics at a *good* school, although stressful in its own way, is not the same kind of stress as working out in the "real world." Teaching will get you....3 months off in the summer, 2 weeks at Christmas, and a week at Easter. Think of the fun you could have - hiking in Nepal, safaris in Africa, enjoying the beach in Bali, etc.

Other than that, I would like someplace for my (wonderful) 17 year old son to call "home." I would like him to be able to go to college and know some other students there, and when he comes home on school breaks, have friends at home. I'd like him to do normal things like be able to spend Thanksgivings with family, who are all on the west coast.

When I buy more stock in January, it will probably be either GNT, CPQ or WDC. Most likely GNT. What do you think?
Denise
