M2 PRESSWIRE-8 October 1998-DIALOGIC: Microsoft and Dialogic promote next-generation computer telephony platforms at Voice Europe '98 (C)1994-98 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
-- CT Media Windows NT-based Showcase
Voice Europe '98, -- October 20-22 1998 -- Microsoft and Dialogic are co-hosting a showcase of next-generation computer telephony systems built around Dialogic's Windows NT-based CT Media resource management and development environment at Voice Europe '98.
The showcase takes place on the afternoon of Tuesday 20th October (starting 1.30PM) in Room 1 of the Henley Suite, Olympia Grand Hall, London - and features practical demonstrations of next generation open communications systems (such as PC-based call centres, interactive voice response systems and application generators).
Leading companies participating in the showcase include:
* Compaq * Rockwell * Ericsson * SummaFour * Deutsche Telekom (showing the integration of DT, DASA and Lernout and Hauspie technologies on a single platform) * MediaSoft * CSELT * Philips Speech Processing * Atio
ALL these products leverage Microsoft's Windows NT operating system and open industry standards such as Microsoft's Telephone Application Programming Interface (TAPI) and the Enterprise Computer Telephony Forum's S.100 media API.
Attendees will hear how CT Media computer telephony (CT) server middleware and Windows NT system capabilities are enabling a new generation of powerful communication servers based on open, modular and standards based software and hardware. "The promise of the CT Server is that telephony applications can transparently share a common pool of CT resources that exist within an open system built of best-of-breed components, and be strongly integrated into the enterprise information infrastructure" said Howard Bubb, CEO and Chairman of Dialogic Corporation. "This almost exactly parallels how data-driven applications transparently share data resources on a database server. These pioneering applications are impressive proof that Windows NT, CT Media, and multivendor CT components are fulfilling the CT Server promise today."
"The very fact that Microsoft is co-hosting such an event shows how rapidly the telephony industry is moving forward towards open systems" said Stephen McBride, Industry Marketing Manager, Application Developer Customer Unit at Microsoft UK. "NT-based elements such as Dialogic's CT Media software and open multivendor CT components are enabling third party developers to produce exciting applications which fulfil the promise of CTI, further fulfilment of Microsoft's commitment that Windows will be the premier communications platform".
