"Being a C programmer it isn't hard to understand that the solution isn't all that difficult to accomplish. A program can be written to discover the code that deals with the two digit year code and can then replace that code with the new updated four digit code. I believe that is what TSRI means by a 100% automated Y2K conversion solution. "

Then you must be a very good C programmer!

1) how can you be sure you program catches all the errors?
2) how can you be sure you program doesn't catch false errors and generate new bugs?
3) how can you be sure your automatic correct generates the right corrected code?

I don't see an obvious algrithom to do these things. Remember, once you want the computer to do something intelligence, it is really hard, just like handwriting / voice recognition. With current technology, you will never get 100% accuracy, but you can live with it when it comes to handwriting but not accounting.
