There has certainly been some overcapacity in the tech commodity area. Siemens plant inN/E England also closed last month. But those are the parts of the industry, any industry that has matured a little that always get hurt becuase they have basically no economic raison d'etre.

What on earth was Siemens doing opening a plant in N/E England, why has MOT been opening plants in Malaysia for heavens sake?

But there has not been excess cpacity in WMT or EK or KO or Kmart or many others and OK those are not high tech industry. IKn 'high tech we have and are having all the internet and associated businesses start contributing to the economy and these are not commodity jobs. CSCO is real and real growth and so is all its colmpetitive indutry and INTC is just going through a change a sort of metamorphosis before it starts producing chios that do something more advanced than just act as computer processors.

No I think there has been real and profitable growth but not all round as you you rightly say but concetrating on the real economies of the world with sustainable jnobs appropriate for their local circumstances and assiting the US economy rather than replacing it will help.
