If your overly-dire scenario unfolds as you predict, it won't matter much what your circumstances are-a general conflagration would certainly erupt as desperate ruling classes plunge into global thermonuclear war.

It ain't gonna happen--Y2k will not produce as much discord in USA as predicted--many imbedded chips will fail--but gas, power, water, electricity will not suffer. A protracted worldwide recession is possible as Americans will no longer support the export based economies of the rest of the world. We really don't need them anyway, what with our 300 billion trade deficit. If we export nothing, and import nothing, we are hundreds of billions ahead per year. Yes, it is as simple as that.

However, our degenerate urban denizens might go on a rampage if gov't. 'assistance' checks are a few weeks late.

Raise cash, get to know your extended families again, and get right with God, we are powerless to do anything to stop the relentless river of history. And those who do have the power are named Clinton, Gore, Barney Frank , Ted Kennedy, Newtie, Trent,....feel better now??

One more thing--the abortion of unwanted baby girls in China has created a birth ratio of 9-1 male to female. In 15 or so years there will be a gigantic number of single young men in China with no hope of finding a mate. Would make a great army. Anyone recall The Great Khan?
